What this is

Specification and build.

This is an accessory for the Scandinavian Aluminum Outdoor Pergola, not the pergola itself.

Retractable screens that drop down any of the four sides of the pergola to cut low sun, block a sightline, or take the edge off light wind and rain. Each screen is a tensioned textile mesh on a powder-coated aluminium frame, height adjustable so it can be run part-way down.

The frames are finished to match the pergola in black or white, and they can be fitted at any point after the pergola goes up. There is no need to decide at the time of the original order. Retract them fully in strong wind.

Do I need a permit?

Often, and the threshold varies by county. Structures over roughly 200 square feet, or anything with plumbing or permanent power, generally require review. We supply engineering drawings and load calculations for your submission.

What does the base need?

A level, compacted pad with anchor points. Concrete, timber deck and screw piles are all used. The anchor pattern is in the drawings and depends on the model and your local wind load.
