What this is

Specification and build.

A shell-form dome with the entire front elevation in tempered glass and an elevated wooden floor that runs out past the glass to form a deck. It is built for sites where the view is the product, whether a cliff edge, a ridge line or a lake frontage, because everything the guest sees from the bed is through that front wall.

The frame is anti-rust galvanised steel pipe under a PVDF cover, and the anchoring uses extended steel pipes rather than a poured foundation, so the unit can go on ground you would not pour concrete on.

Do I need a permit?

Often, and the threshold varies by county. Structures over roughly 200 square feet, or anything with plumbing or permanent power, generally require review. We supply engineering drawings and load calculations for your submission.

What does the base need?

A level, compacted pad with anchor points. Concrete, timber deck and screw piles are all used. The anchor pattern is in the drawings and depends on the model and your local wind load.
