What this is

Specification and build.

Two interconnected tents, a tall conical tipi and a triangular A-frame, sharing one 354 square foot floor plate. The usual layout puts sleeping in the cone and living in the A-frame, but the two are interchangeable.

The cover is double-sided PVC over galvanised steel tube with a built-in cotton insulation layer, so the unit holds temperature better than a single-skin canvas tent and needs no seasonal maintenance. Windows are PVC mesh: daylight in, insects out, and cross ventilation between opposite walls.

Do I need a permit?

Often, and the threshold varies by county. Structures over roughly 200 square feet, or anything with plumbing or permanent power, generally require review. We supply engineering drawings and load calculations for your submission.

What does the base need?

A level, compacted pad with anchor points. Concrete, timber deck and screw piles are all used. The anchor pattern is in the drawings and depends on the model and your local wind load.
