What this is

Specification and build.

Two Indian-style tents joined into a single structure, which is how you get 388 to 1,076 square feet of enclosed floor area out of a form that still reads as a tent from the outside. Operators use the larger sizes as family units or as a suite with a separate living room; the interior is one open volume, so the partitioning is yours to decide.

The frame combines galvanised steel pipe with solid wood, and both side walls are full tempered glass. The door is double glazed in an aluminium alloy frame and opens onto an extended front deck. Cross ventilation runs between the two glass walls without opening the door.

Do I need a permit?

Often, and the threshold varies by county. Structures over roughly 200 square feet, or anything with plumbing or permanent power, generally require review. We supply engineering drawings and load calculations for your submission.

What does the base need?

A level, compacted pad with anchor points. Concrete, timber deck and screw piles are all used. The anchor pattern is in the drawings and depends on the model and your local wind load.
