How ordering works

Buying a structure is not the same as buying furniture, so it is worth knowing what the sequence looks like before you start.

1. Tell us about the site

Size, ground conditions, climate, access for a freight truck, power and water, and whether you need permits. This is where most of the value is. A dome that suits a sheltered valley in Georgia is not the one that suits an exposed ridge in Colorado.

Use the project brief or call (833) 566-7483.

2. We come back with a specification and a landed cost

Model, size, cover material, options, and freight to your address rather than to a port or a warehouse. If several models would work we will tell you the trade offs rather than steering you to the expensive one.

3. You place the order with a 50 percent deposit

The deposit puts your unit into the build queue and the lead time starts from there. Plan on 6 to 10 weeks for the build, plus freight. Full terms are on the lead times and payment page.

Read the cancellation terms before you pay it. Built to order units cannot be canceled once they are in production.

4. The balance falls due before shipping

We invoice the balance, including any sales tax and the quoted freight, before the unit is released. Card payments carry a 3 percent processing fee, shown at checkout. Wire transfer does not.

5. Delivery and inspection

Common carrier freight domestically, ocean freight internationally. Delivery is to the point the truck can safely reach, and offloading is on you, so have equipment ready.

Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves and note any damage on the paperwork. Anything wrong must be reported in writing within 10 days.

6. Assembly

These structures are designed for assembly on site and ship with the documentation to do it. Most buyers use a local crew. Tell us at the specification stage if you want assembly guidance included, and we will make sure the right manuals and hardware schedules come with the unit.

Still deciding
